LO: To evaluate and review our News Day project
Evaluation:
Within our group, we consisted of three members, Poppy, Lauren and George. In our group we were looking upon the subject of 'Protests At Penrice Academy' and did some interviews with students from Bodmin College about their views of the situation. In my own opinion, my favourite bit to do and enjoyed was the interviews; As I was able to interview my friend's and also got to record them; I looked very professional. The bit that I least enjoyed was the fact that me and my dear friend Poppy had to edit all of the anchor intro's which starred us as the anchor's. I feel that I have gained a new knowledge about how to work camera's, for example getting the perfect light and focus for each interview shot. I have learnt that in the news process, that it takes a lot of people for it, as we needed a whole class to do it just as a project, so just imagining it in the real world makes it feel a lot more difficult. If I was to do this certain thing again, the thing that I personally feel that I would do differently is try to make the interviews and anchor intro's smoother than they are now. I would also try and feel more comfortable and confident while in front of the camera. That is my evaluation, back to you in the studio...

A way you can check if what your reading is fake news is by look for supporting sources and also check if it is a joke and ask the experts.
Fake News:
False information used to shape your views, opinions or ideas.
The information is often exaggerated, heavily biased or simply not true.
It is often intentionally misleading.
It can also be known as propaganda.

Hello, I'm George and this, is BBC Young Reporter. Student protests have broken out at different schools across the country after a video of student demonstration went viral on the social media platform, TikTok. On the 24th of February, a protest broke out over toilet rules at Penrice Academy, St Austell. We will now go to our reporter Poppy with more information about this story.
Thank you George. Protests broke out at Penrice Academy on the 24th February following the introduction of new toilet rules. these rules stated that students were no longer allowed to go to the toilet during lesson time. This angered both students and parents and some took to Facebook to express their outrage. Kim Bailey wrote: "Any human, child or adult should be allowed to use the toilets at any time." The issue of periods was brought up, and to combat this, the school introduced red "period passes". These passes involve female students collecting a card and showing it to their teacher if they need to use the bathroom. The school stated that this rule was put in place to minimise disruption, however parents have called it"controlling and archaic". Students are now facing extreme consequences including permanent exclusion because of their behaviour during this protest. Some might say however that the protest was successful as the school later held sessions for their students to talk to their tutors individually to express any concerns they may have in a calm and civilised manner.
Response from Jasmine: The students should have their rights.
Response from Emily: It's the best option if their going to ban toilets. It's flawed.
Response from Dili: I wouldn't like it. I would find it unfair.
Response from Lili: The idea was good but the way it was carried out was unreasonable.
